HoneyBook
No. HoneyBook is client management software for the front office: proposals, contracts, invoices, online payments, scheduling, and a branded client portal. It has no general ledger, no expense tracking, no bank reconciliation, and no profit-and-loss or balance-sheet reports. HoneyBook itself recommends pairing it with accounting software like QuickBooks for the books. Vuuv is the bookkeeping side: it tracks expenses, runs a double-entry ledger, and produces tax-ready reports.
It depends on what you rely on HoneyBook for. Vuuv covers invoicing, estimates, online payments (card and ACH), partial payments and payment schedules, a CRM with a deals pipeline, and a public booking page. What HoneyBook does that Vuuv does not is branded interactive proposals, a client portal, workflow automations, and automated payment reminders. If those client-facing pieces are central to how you book work, HoneyBook is stronger there. If your main gap is bookkeeping and taxes, Vuuv fills that and adds the accounting HoneyBook lacks.
Vuuv has a free plan, and its paid plan starts at $12 per month with a 30-day free trial. HoneyBook has three plans: Starter at $36 per month ($29 if billed annually), Essentials at $59 per month ($49 if billed annually), and Premium at $129 per month ($109 if billed annually), all prices as of June 2026. Both products charge per-transaction payment processing fees on top of the subscription. HoneyBook advertises card fees starting at 2.7% plus 10 cents and ACH at 1.5%; Vuuv passes through Stripe processing rates and adds no platform fee.
Some do. A creative business might run HoneyBook for proposals, contracts, and the client portal, then use Vuuv for expense tracking, categorization, and tax reports instead of paying for a second accounting tool. The tradeoff is paying for two products. If your priority is reducing your stack, Vuuv handles invoicing, payments, and a CRM alongside the bookkeeping, which can let you consolidate.
Only partly. HoneyBook offers a Tax Hub that centralizes 1099-K documents and payment-data reports such as payments processed, sales tax collected, discounts, refunds, and fees charged. It does not do bookkeeping, automatic expense tracking, profit-and-loss statements, or tax filing, and it states it is not a substitute for a professional. Vuuv generates Schedule C, Schedule E, 1099-NEC forms, and a year-end tax packet, though you or your CPA still file the return; Vuuv does not e-file your taxes for you.
HoneyBook is purpose-built for that audience, so its proposals, contracts, and automations fit creative and event workflows well. Vuuv is better when the priority is the financial side: tracking expenses, reconciling bank activity, and producing tax-ready reports. Many creatives compare the two because HoneyBook wins on client-facing polish while Vuuv covers the accounting and tax depth HoneyBook leaves out.
