Yes. Vuuv is designed for freelancers, small businesses, and real estate investors who aren't accountants. Both keep real double-entry books, but QuickBooks puts the full accounting surface in front of you, which can be overwhelming, while Vuuv keeps the day-to-day simple: tracking income and expenses, generating tax reports, and getting paid, with the ledger and balance sheet there when you need them.
QuickBooks targets businesses of all sizes and includes features most small businesses don't need (inventory, advanced reporting, etc.). Vuuv focuses on the essentials for freelancers and real estate investors, keeping costs low. Our free tier lets you get started without any credit card.
Yes. You can invite your accountant with their own login, and Vuuv generates industry-standard reports (P&L, Schedule C, Schedule E) that any accountant can work with. You can also export to CSV for import into their preferred software.
Yes. Vuuv generates Schedule C (self-employment), Schedule E (rental income), 1099-NEC forms, mileage logs, and a complete Year-End Tax Packet that includes everything your CPA needs. We also have a tax calculator that shows estimated taxes and what-if scenarios.
Yes. Export your QuickBooks data as a CSV file and import it into Vuuv. Our import wizard helps map your accounts and categories.
There is a real $0 QuickBooks Free plan as of 2026, but it's tightly capped: two invoices per month, two receipt uploads per month, one connected bank account, one user, and no accountant access. Intuit's own guidance is to upgrade when you hit those caps, and the first paid plan is Simple Start at $38/month. Vuuv's free plan has unlimited transactions and no invoice cap, and the paid plan is $12/month.
No. You can keep multiple company files under one Intuit login, but each company requires its own paid subscription, so two businesses on Simple Start cost $76/month after the August 2026 price changes. Vuuv Pro supports unlimited businesses under one $12/month subscription.
No. Project profitability tracking starts on the Plus plan at $140/month; Simple Start ($38) and Essentials ($85) don't include it. Vuuv's Projects feature includes job costing, change orders, and retainage on its $12/month Pro plan.
It can, but properties are not a real thing in QuickBooks, so you rebuild them out of parts. The usual approach is class or location tracking, one per property, which is what lets you pull a profit and loss for a single unit. Class tracking is not on the entry-level plans, so it means the Plus tier or higher. It holds up for a handful of properties and gets awkward past that. Vuuv treats a property as its own record, so per-property reporting works without the setup.
Not directly. QuickBooks does not map its categories to Schedule E lines, so even with class tracking set up per property you or your accountant still translate the report into the form at tax time. Vuuv produces the Schedule E from your books, along with Schedule C, MACRS depreciation schedules, and a year-end packet for your CPA.
Yes. Unlike QuickBooks (which requires workarounds for real estate), Vuuv has built-in property tracking, tenant management, lease tracking, rent collection, MACRS depreciation, 1031 exchange tracking, and Schedule E reports. It's purpose-built for landlords.
